Partner In Excellence
Atlantic Urogynecology - Your Partner In Excellence.
Your reconstructive pelvic surgeon and urogynecologist is one of approximately 100 fellowship-trained subspecialists in the United States. Fellowship training ensures that your surgeon has met recognized standards of excellence in medical and surgical practice.
The training in general ob/gyn residency is insufficient to comprehensively address these complex interrelated urogynecologic issues. That’s why the subspecialty of urogynecology and pelvic surgery was instituted. It ensures that a woman’s more complex needs will be adequately met.
Fellowship consists of three years of post-residency training in an American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology-approved program. Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery is one of four subspecialties within ob/gyn. There are about 20 such fellowship programs in the United States.
Areas of expertise in this subspecialty training include urology, colorectal surgery, reconstructive pelvic surgery, plastic surgery, pelvic floor rehabilitation, urogynecology and dedicated multidisciplinary research and authorship in pelvic floor medicine and related issues.
During the
fellowship program,
Dr. Christopher Walshe demonstrated mandatory experience and expertise in the management of a broad spectrum of patients with reconstructive pelvic surgical, pelvic floor medicine and urogynecologic issues.
